AE Not Saved

I was working on my After Effects project the whole day and for some reason by the end of the day I tried saving the file and it was just frozen. I tried rendering and nothing happened. Then tried closing it and it showed me that the file is saved first. Then when I openned the software again and looked for the file I could only find Yesterday's last saved versions. Not even an auto-save every 15 minutes seemed to have ben doing it's magic. So somebody, please tell me there's a way to find my working files somewhere. There is no way I could have been working on a blank project not being recorded somewhere.
