AE Update Character Panel Still Left "Unfinished"?

So the excuse given last update by Victoria Niece about why AE's character panel could no longer preview fonts by rolling over them (instead having to re-open the font browser every time you preview a font)  was that they simply ran out of time but it was a priority for the next update.   So what's the excuse for it's still being broken (sorry, "unfinished") in today's update?

Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you! Enabling this behavior is not the simple bugfix it may appear to be from the outside. (If it were, it would be in the patch.) That doesn't mean it's not a priority for us.

    From November,

This is on our radar for a future update. We simply ran out of time to get step-through previews working with the new panel this cycle.

It's ridiculous. I have submitted twice about this issue and you would have though Adobe would have fixed it for the 15.0.1 update. Nope! Adobe, please get this fixed asap! This is not 1995 and this is slowing us down considerably.

Truth is the Character panel is finished, it's never getting live preview back.  Never was.

C'mon, you know the answer to that one!   Work on new features always takes precedence at Adobe!

Hell, you can't lure in new renters by saying, "we fixed something we broke".  You have to say, "look at the new and cool stuff we've got".

Well at least the PS team managed to fix their character panel so the leading & kearning and such update in real time.  Too bad we can't vote on what percentage of our subscription fees makes it to what dev team.

I recall threads like this one in the late '90's: "Can you forget about new features and put out a version where everything works, Adobe?"

The situation only grows worse since Creative Cloud.
