Hi I am using After Effect CC 2019, I followed the instruction to convert the photoshop layers into editable layer but failed, the following is my way to do, please anybody tell me I made mistake or After Effect error.

1. imported photoshop *.psd file into project --> enable "all acceptable files" --> imported as "composition - retain layer sizes"

--> editable layer styles --> OK

2. drag psd composition into timeline panel, double click the composition to open its own layers.

3.  select text files --> go to menu Layer --> Layer style --> convert to editable style --> BUT the PSD failed to change into text.

anybody got the same problem as mine, please help.  Thanks!

Not every style will be editable. Many are not compatible with other effects. You have to take a careful look at the requirements and carefully read the documentation before you try and do something like this. There are a couple of guides for creating artwork that is not only compatible with AE and Premiere Pro, but that is compatible with video production. It wouldn't hurt to do some homework.

It would also help us a lot if we knew some workflow and file details. I could probably take a quick look at your PSD and tell you which layer styles you will have to remove to get your PSD to import properly. Then you'll just have to manipulate the layers in AE to get the look you want.
