After Effects 2020 update crashes after loading file MacBook Pro

Hello, looking for help with insistant crashing!

I open an AE file that I've been working on for a week and it was fine up until today when suddenly it crashed. Now I open the file, it loads completely, then after 5 seconds to 1 minute it crashes. It occurs to this specific files and all other files. I've tried creating a new project and importing composition, that crashes too after any composition is loaded, so it's not a specific corrupt file. Files with a lot of layers and with no layers crashes. Cleared cache. Has enough ram.

My Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore folder is empty, no plugins downloaded or installed. I've tried renaming to MediaCore.disabled and that didn't work either so changed it back.

The crash happens with the older AE version 17.1.4 and 17.5.1. The program automatically updated because I pay for creative cloud so I think the issue started today when it updated to 17.5.1, and persisted since trying a previous version, uninstalling, and installing again.

Other adobe programs work (photoshop, premiere).

I've attached the first few lines of the crash log, and the immediate pop up when the software crashes (with the red sign, I redacted the file name information).

I'm working on a Macbook pro and I attached the information below.

Please help if possible. I've been using AE for years and this caught me out of left field right before a bunch of deadlines.

Hi LiliBDatwl,

Thanks for the detailed post and sorry for your issue.

As a basic troubleshooting step, have you tried resetting the preferences of After Effects: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-after-effects/td-p/10634342?page=1

If that doesn't help, please share the complete crash report. I can share it with the product team and get it translated.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Nishu
