After Effects 2021 - 3rd Party Plug-in Issue - (ex: Boris EFX Sapphire)

I have been having an error show up a lot with the latest version of After Effects 2021. When I am using the Boris EFX Sapphire plug-in some effects applied to some layers cause the rendering to freeze/crash. 

As a test - I just did a test render of a project "with" and "without" the Sapphire plug in layers active.

I turn on the Sapphire layers the render stalls.

 

I am running After Effects ver. 22.0.1 - there is an update available and I am wondering if that would solve the problem? I don't want to introduce further errors...

 

Has anyone else run into this problem? I am wondering if this is a known issue. Thanks much.
