After Effects capturing screen even when closed

After closing After Effects at the top of my desktop bar, I noticed a purple icon with the message 'Adobe After Effects is capturing screen'. Does anybody know what that means and how to turn it off? The AE is not running anymore, but the icon is still live. It bothers me as I don't know why. I did not intend to record my screen so I would be very grateful for any suggestions on how to deal with this.

Hi there, thanks for writing in.

After Effects doesn't record the screen. It could be due to the color picker. If you're still seeing this, check in the activity monitor if After Effects or any of its services is running. If not, try restarting your system.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu

To resolve the persistent After Effects screen recording icon, force quit the app, check recording preferences, restart your computer, and update After Effects.
