Hello guys... I have recently updated to AE CC 2018 and I am facing this new problem that I haven't faced before. I made a project in AE and added it to render queue.

After starting the render...it renders somewhere about 200-300 frames and then does not procedes.....

I checked in the task manager, the CPU usage while it should be around 70-85%

Trying pausing the render and then continuing is not helping.....

Render does not even stops if you try to and program does not even closes.....

I tried reducing load but i am still facing some problems.......PLEASE HELP!!

I tried exporting composition to Adobe Media Encoder or Premier Pro but my Dynamic Link isn't working for some reason ;_;

My Laptop

Asus ROG GL552VX

Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700HQ 2.6GHz

RAM: 8GB

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M 4GB

Same issues here, AE renders just stop at random points without any error.  Difficult to pinpoint the problem, since it doesn't fail at a specific frame.

Currently, only solution has been to split the final comp into small segments.  After each segment renders, quit AE / reopen, and render the next subclip.  Afterwards, concat the renders with ffmpeg.. Rather frustrating.

Hi, which version of after effects are you using? I had the problem when I was using cc 2018 and switched from windows 7 to windows 10. But again switched back to windows 7 and now it's working fine.

Also cc 2019 version had the same problem at windows 7 as well but the cc 2020 version works good at both the windows.

Hope this helps.

Hi Umair - I'm using AE 2020, and this is occurring on both my Mac (Mojave) and PC (Windows 10) laptops.

For anyone that still needs help: It could be an effect, so in order to fix it delete the effect/redo it. If the effect took you so long or its not the reason why it stops rendering, then try to render that clip and replace it with the already rendered clip. I hope this makes sense.

all I did was add coloring to my project, didn't render. it stopped at 70-75 cp usage. I even tried to just add a photo to a random project and it still wouldn't render.

I have the same problem.

I was using windows 7 before and then there was no problem. Yesterday I updated to windows 10 and now render freezes at some frame. I have to end task.

If I find no other solution, I'm going back to window 7.

I have this exact same issue! im using after effects cc 2018. I have NO effects on my clips. all I have is one mask and a few clips with the paint brush tool. I tried rendering the full composition (2:36) and then tried only doing 30 seconds. I tried rendering only certain clips and it still doesnt work. It doesn’t stop at a specific point it just keeps freezing /:

Exact same problem with CC2019 version. rendering a 24sec comp with twixtor pro.

Same problem here. I agree after every update it seems my adobe products run into more and more problems. At this point I am contemplating cancelling my subscription and looking for new programs as this is ridiculous, and the people at tech support never know how to help. Absurd that I'm paying this much for programs that don't work properly.

I'm having the exact same problem trying to render a 20 second graphic animation. So far I've only been able to render 0.5 second chunks at best. Very frustrating...

Nvidia gforce gtx 1060 6gb

I had this problem and was able to resolve it, but not sure if it's the same exact issue. I think one of the layers was corrupt for some reason. I went to the frame it kept stopping on and tested all the layers by shutting off each one individually and then doing a little sample render. I found one adjustment layer with the "bulge" effect on it and shut it off and the render went through.

Hi @KVX Production,

Did you find a solution for this? I'm encountering almost the same issue and running out of solutions to try out.

Thanks
