After Effects; change colour outside of composition

Hey there guys,

So I've got a composition which has a lot of dark tones and is proving difficult to view, with the exception of rendering it out and viewing in Quicktime. (If you refer to the attached screenshot) I was wondering whether you could change the colour of not  the composition background, but the area outside of the composition

Thanks in advance!

Unlike in Photoshop the pasteboard coloor cannot be changed. It's an integral part of the default color scheme. feel free to up the overall UI brightness setting.

Ah dangit... By upping the overall UI brightness I assume you just means with the toggles on the keyboard?

No, in After Effects Preferences you can brighten and darken the overall User Interface, from a pale grey to very dark grey.
