Hi everyone,
I've got an issue wit Content Aware Fill in After Effects. I've got a video where I need to get rid of a cable and I'm trying to use Content Aware Fill but everytime I try, the system starts "beach balling" and finally crashes.
The video is 1080p AVC Intra 100 10 bits from a Sony camera, it's trimmed to the length I need only.
The system is a Mac Studio M1 Max 64RAM 32 graphics cores.
I've tried to convert the file to Apple ProRes with the same result.
I tried to create a new project only for Content Aware Fill to no avail.
I've got access to a windows machine so I tried to open the project there and it crashes too, however when I create a new project in Windows, Content Aware Fill works just fine.
Is there something that I'm missing or any idea on how to get it to work on the Mac?
Thanks!!
Alberto

Have you tried soemthing as mundane as converting it to a TIFF sequence? Both ProRes and AVC use hardware acceleration and more than anything else this may be the problem when it causes a conflict with other stuff in your project. That could be the reason why it works on a blank project. Some info on that and soem screenshots certainly would help to clarify.

I'm not having any issues with my M1 Mac. What version of AE? What kind of shot? What workflow are you following? CAF requires a specific workflow and a specific type of shot to work well.

It's funny but this morning I tried again and it's working as expected.
No idea what could be the issue!
