After Effects Hangs (freezes) when using external video output

I am using After Effects 2021 (18.4.1) on a Mac Pro Mid-2012 with a XFX Radeon RX580 (8 GB) video card.  After Effects crashes often upon import, changing compositions, or even opening AE when you use an external monitor for video preview. I have wrote in about this previously using my work email/login prior.  After several attempts and trials, I have narrowed down why the beach-ball of death happens either when I open/import/change compositions, After Effects wants to hang-up or crash when you use video preview output.   This was not a problem in 2020 version. I notice that when I use (/ = keypad key) to toggle off the video preview and leave it off or disable Mercury Transmit, After Effects does NOT hang or crash.

 

Is there a fix for this? Please look into it whenever possible.

    I see that there is not anyone from the Adobe Team to respond. I would like to escalate this matter as to why After Effects 2020 had no problems switching from composition-to-composition with the video preview mode transmitted to a second monitor, but the After Effects 2021 freezes/hangs every time?
