after effects has stopped working error

Whenever I try to open AE(2023), it starts opening, then freezes when it's initializing media core, and then crashes(displays "after effects 2023 has stopped working") I've looked at solutions online, many of them say end or delete the Adobe qt32 server.exe file in the 32 folder, however, I have neither the file or the folder.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Try to restore the default Preference settings https://helpx.adobe.com/ae_en/after-effects/using/preferences.html

also be sure your GPU driver is updated to the latest version

Hi marumanto,

Sorry for the crash.

It could be the third-party plug-ins. Try removing them - go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore and remove all the files and folders (except dummy.txt). You can move the files and folders to a different location to keep a backup.

Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Nishu
