After Effects Media Cache Location Mystery

Question

I am now working with AE on my new Mac studio. However the location of my Media Cache is on my old Mac and I can't seem to move it to a new folder on my Mac Studio. All the browse locations appear to be on my old ImacPro. Please Advise.

Did you use Migration Assistant? And if so, did you include applications?

If you'd like to set it to Users/<current user>/Library/Caches without resetting all the preferences, you can do so by dragging and dropping the Library folder from a Finder window to the Choose Location dialog box in After Effects. In the Finder, hold option and then choose Go > Library to open the Finder window. Switch to After Effects and click the "Choose folder" button for Disk Cache to open the Choose Location dialog box and then drag and drop the Library folder from the Finder window to this dialog box to set the path. Then click "Choose".

Otherwise, reset the preferences.
