After Effects Motion Tile Error

New Here ,
Nov 20, 2021 Nov 20, 2021

Hi! So my birthday is coming up in 6 days and I made a birthday edit for myself. It’s my second after effects edit, and I did pretty much the same things I did for my first ae edit which worked perfectly fine. But, while rendering my birthday edit, it keeps saying that motion tile cannot allocate a buffer larger than 30000 pixels. I decreased my motion tile settings to less than 500 too. I used media encoder to render, I used the secret settings, I lowered down the resolution. I changed the motion tile values again, I changed the fps. And nothing would work. Everytime I render, it stops at this one exact frame but there’s really nothing unusual about it. It’s just a position and scale transition with motion tile that has leas than 500 value. I am genuinely so confused, and it’s making me so desperate to do anything at this point. Thank you!

How much RAM does your computer have?

What is the resolution of the source file that you have applied Motion Tile to?

What is the resolution of your composition?

Try rendering the project from the Render Queue, but set the resolution to "Half", which will reduce the amount of RAM used considerably.  Does it work?

Without any info on your actual footage and settings as well as your system we really can't tell you much. Chances are that this may not even be the Motion Tile effect itself but rather something else liek a blur or glow kicking in at this point, but without any screenshots or other details nobody can assess the situation and advise specifically.

Just following on from what the others are saying, sometimes with problematic compositions you need to pre-render some elements.

Another step you can take is to render out an image sequence.  That way AE won't have to repeat any rendering it's already done.  Could it be the cache is getting filled up and throwing this error which isn't really connected?

purging memory cache before rendering could be a great help,

edit -> purge -> All memory and disk cache
