My after effects video isn't showing and there's no eyeball icon please help

After effects didn't recognize the video, check if it's not corrupted, or maybe the codec is not supported. If you can, try to convert that movie into prores using a video conversion software and reimport it again into AE

• Is it happening with a particular file or any file that you import?
• What if you create a Solid layer? Do you see the preview?
• What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM)?

it only happens with 4k res (mp4) files for some reason

i havent checked i can check
