After effects preview stops working after replaying

Hi, I am using an HP probook x360 with 8 gb RAM, 8th gen intel i5 processor and nvidia geforce MX 130 graphics card. I have been using After eccets CC 2019 for quite some time now and it used to run fine on my laptop. Suddenly one day the preview panel stopped previewing the rendered preview. The audio was working fine but the preview stuck on a particular frame throughout the sequence.

I have tried :

1. Cleaning disk cache

2. Purging memory

3. Reinstalling the application

4. Installing a different version of the application ( AE 2017 and 2018)

5. Resetting my computer

But nothing works. The preview plays fine the first time and it gets stuck when i replay the sequence.

Other adobe softwares like Premiere are working perfectly fine with smooth preview.
