Question

After Effects Project Massive File Size

I have an After Effects project in excess of 250 MB with very few comps, 2, not many keyframes. I am wondering what could inflate a project to such a massive size. I have many effects layered, could that be contributing?

Thank you!

Warp Stabilizing and Rotobrush will quickly inflate file sizes. Media previews from compressed footage (mp4) also inflate file size. Without knowing your workflow it is nearly impossible to tell what is going on. More details and even a screenshot showing the modified properties of the layers in the comp could give us a much better idea of what is going on. UU + PrintScreen + Paste or drag to the forum is all that it takes.

Thanks for the response. I've attached a screenshot of my layers to the original post. I'm not using Warp or Roto, however I am using an mp4 in one of the precomps (720p, 120 megs). I've never had a project inflate to this size before, it takes multiple minutes to open. I'm also attaching the project report, maybe that has some tell tale information? The original question reflects a reduced version of the project that i created to deduced which comp was contributing to the size. That's the comp I have screenshotted. To clarify: The reduced project was 250 megs. The full project (which mostly consists of past versions of this comp and mostly empty comps with guide layers) is about 1.5 gigs.

In your project report, I can see that you used Warp Stabilizer, that could explain the massive file size. Maybe some Warp data linked to some of your assets inside the new smaller project could be the cause of the 250mb file size.
