After Effects projects won't always open when in Dropbox

I've often had the issue lately that After Effects projects will get stuck when opening. The blue progress bar is always stuck at 97% or 99% when opening. Sometimes after an hour it's still stuck at 99%, even though they aren't complicated projects. 

 

It's very random though. Sometimes they do open, sometimes they don't.

One thing I did notice is that all these files are in Dropbox, and when I drag the folder to my desktop I have no issues opening these files. My colleagues can open these exact same After Effect project files in their Dropbox though.

 

Anyone know how to fix this?

      You may be finding AE is waiting on the file to finish downloading if it's not downloaded completely. My only suggestion besides not working in an active Dropbox folder, is to turn off syncing in Dropbox while working in AE so that the files aren't being locked off for upload/download.
