After Effects RAM preview not working AE cc 2022

Hi everyone so just to start off I'll put my system settings here now.
I have 32 GB of RAM
NVIDIA 2080RTX
i7-8700 cpu
Windows 11
i have 28 gb of ram alloted to after effects when its running
my disk cache is on my D:/ drive which is a tb and has about 600 gb left open on it.
BUT as mentioned in my title my RAM preview simply refuses to work. The only time i am able to use it is when I have freshly opened after effects and then as soon as I click anywhere outside of starting the RAM preview or hitting space it stops working. I don't know whats going on or why the RAM preview doesnt work. I am starting off my schooling as an animator and this is honestly super frustrating cause i cant check my work in real time as i can only drag the indicator through the timeline to see my work and its not in Real Time so I can practice one of the essential parts of animation which is the timing of things.

Did you find a solutiuon to this problem? This just started happening to me this morning. The most frustrating thing is that it is only occuring in one project, the others render just fine.

Hey there,

Sorry about the issue. Could you let us know which version of After Effects you're currently working on? Do you see any error codes or messages? Please share your system specifications (OS, OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM).

Thanks,

Ishan

I am not sure about the specific cause. Would you try to change 3D renderer option of Composition settings? You also update the driver of the graphic card.

Edit menu > Composition settings > 3D renderer

Render: Cinema 4D -> Classic 3D
