After Effects SDK license

Community Beginner ,
Dec 27, 2023 Dec 27, 2023

Hey everyone!
The After Effects SDK has grown on me over the past weeks, but there is one question i keep wondering about... What license does the SDK code have? Is there a document specifying in what ways i can use the Headers/ C-Files of the Examples folder? I would expect them to be licensed under MIT or similar, but after much searching i could not find the answer to this.. Help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Felix

As long as a given developer has agreed to Adobe's Terms, they don't need any approval for submission on any non-Adobe-owned marketplaces.

Also: Developers are free to distribute plugins built using SDK headers and source files; you just can't distribute our  SDK headers and source files.

Seems like all we have to go of are the Developer Terms Of Use...

Adobe General Terms of Use section 1.2 has a link labelled Adobe Developer, which points to the developer terms of use. Section 4.1 covers the license that applies to "Developer Tools" which is defined as including the SDK.

Thanks, i feel like this is the correct place. So i read this section right here:

"We grant to you a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable, revocable license to (1) use
and reproduce the Developer Tools for the development and testing of your Developer Software; and (2) subject
to the approval rights in section 5 (Distribution of Developer Software), distribute the Developer Tools (or portions
thereof) solely in and with your approved Developer Software in object code form only"

Is this their way of saying that all distributed "Developer Software" (so my plugin) needs to be approved by Adobe, no matter the distribution channel? I never quite understood that when reading the Terms of Use
