After Effects software lagging

Hello,
In the last few months, since the 2025 update, I’ve noticed that the program lags significantly. I’m not referring to the preview, but to the operation of the program itself. For example, when I create a shape, it struggles to follow the mouse movements. Or, when I type an expression, it takes about a second for each letter to appear, and so on. I’ve tried all the settings, but nothing worked. I even reinstalled the 2024 version for testing, and it works perfectly fine.

Could you let me know if this bug can be resolved?

Hi Dimitrie, sorry to hear about the issue. Could you share the following details?

1. What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?

2. Are there any third-party plug-ins installed? If so, try disabling them.

3. Does it happen in all the projects or a particular one?

Hi. I use Win 10, RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB, i9 10850k, 32 RAM. Yes I have third party plug ins like red giand, maxon, video copilot but can t desable because I use them very often. And I also don t think is because of them.

Do you mind disabling the plug-ins just for testing purposes? It'll help us narrow down the issue. Go to Effects > Manage Effects and uncheck all the third-party plug-ins. If it works better, enable the plug-ins one by one to find out which one is causing the issue.
