After effects struggling to preview

Working on 1080x1080 10sec type and image banner. Nothing special, a few presets for a squiggle. 

Yet After Effects is buffering like its a Movie segment with ALL the effects ever made.

I'm viewing in Quater mode

I ahve emptied my Cache a billion times, the most it has had in it was 9gb

I have checked my setting against my collegue, exactly the same, also same computer. 

I have PRAM'd started my comptuer

My IT guy has uninstalled and reinstalled the program

Why is a 15 min job taking hours.... please send help!!
