After update to 22, After FX won't open, gives an error message saying "preference files inside (then gives wrong path location on Mac) ... need to verify file permissions and try again." All other "Adobe 22" apps (Media Encoder, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge) open and work fine. Latest install of Monterrey on Mac and all updates peformed on Adobe Creative Cloud apps.

Hi Christopheles,

Thanks for writing in.

Please try changing the permission as instructed in the following article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/multi/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Nishu

If you can specify the folder you need to set the permission, you open Terminal.app and type in the command line like this.

sudo chmod -R 777 (the folder path)

e.g. sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/

The password is required and then you fill in the log-in password. You launch After Effects after you set it.
