Question

After updating to CC 2020, my AE icon is gone

Hello!

After downloading and installing the latest upgrade (17.1.3) on my macbook, my AE icon is not showing up in the dock nor in the applications folder.

The program works fine, but it is visually confusing not to be able to see the icon when trying to open projects. Anyone has that same problem?

Is there any solution?

Did you try to restart your PC?

What I suggest is as follows.

You move to the actual folder.

/Applications/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ 2020/

Then you choose Adobe After Effects Render Engine.app if the icon is proper. You click File > Get Info (Command key + I). You copy the icon of AE above.

Next you choose Adobe After Effects 2020.app. You click File > Get Info (Command key + I). You do the paste on the icon above.

Hello! I tried it and it didn't work, there's nothing in the "Get Info" panel that I can copy/paste. If I right click on the icon, nothing happens. And if I drag it into the other window, it just opens AE.

You would need to click the icon in the top left corner, not the one in the preview...and then paste in the corresponding position for AE. Not sure this is the best solution, but that is how I did it.
