You probably jumped to the new OS too soon. I make a living with my system, so I never update the OS unless I have a bootable copy of my drive with a working version of the OS and the software. AE 24.0 is out now, but problems are still being reported. You can try permissions fixes and other workarounds. If they don't work, you'll probably have to wait for the next update or even the one after that.

A bootable copy of the working OS goes for Windows and Mac. It is a bad idea to be a beta tester if you depend on your machine to make a living.

Hi Lam31679803k96h,

Welcome to the community and sorry for your issue.

Can you try running After Effects in Safe Mode? If that doesn't help, it could be related to the user permissions. Please check and change the permissions if needed. Steps below:

  1. Navigate to /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0
  • Right-click on the MediaCore folder and choose Get Info from the context menu.
  • Open the Sharing & Permissions section and make sure “everyone” has at least Read Only Privilege set.
  • If the account you are launching After Effects with is listed in the Name column, make sure it has at least the Read Privilege set as well.

  1. Navigate to /Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/
    • Right-click on the appropriate [Version] folder and choose Get Info from the context menu.
    • Ensure Locked is not checked. Uncheck it if necessary.
    • Open the Sharing & Permissions section and ensure the account you using to launch After Effects has both the Read & Write Privilege.

Let us know how it goes.

Note: Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,

Nishu
