Alt key is not working in aftereffects

New Here ,

I press the "alt +" key and it doesn't register on aftereffects. I popped up the keyboard menu and it wasn't reacting to me clicking the alt key either. The key works just fine outside of aftereffects, so I am not sure what the problem is, I haven't had this problem before. AE just updated though so it might be related?

I am using the 24.6.1 version of AfterEffects.

I press the "Shift+Alt+H" key and no response and I click the "alt+]" shortcut and it only reacts to the "]" key.
