So i would like to make a transition consisting of small icon's of fruit rolling across the screen. I don't know how to do this with automating or copying hundreds of little fruits and manually placing them on screen. Does somebody know a quicker way to make this.

Definitely, you don't need to duplicate y9u icons, you can use any particles plugin to do this, like CC Particle World (build-in plugin) or better RG particular (a third-party plugin)

As Oussk says CC Particle World can handle this quite well, you'll use your fruit layer as the Particle Type: Textured Disc.

There's a little bit of work needed for setting up the fruit and how they should fill the screen, but it's entirely possible with just AE
