Audio hardware not working and audio output not working

Lately there has been absolutely zero audio coming from my adobe after effects (cc 2017). I have tried everything, and my last resort is going on audio hardware. the only issue is, every time I try to open it, after effects crashes. It has been doing this for months and I never thought I would have to worry about it because my audio had worked. But now my audio doesnt work and I need help fixing audio hardware if I want to fix my audio.

If you are a Windows user, I recommend you reinstall or update the audio driver.

You're still working on CC2017 so first thing try to upgrade your AE to the latest Release that supports your OS and as ToolfarmJP said if you're running windows try to upgrade your audio driver

Do you still have the installer for this AE version?

I really need it for a third party plugin which does not work with newer AE versions due to a major bug in AE 😞
