Bodymovin - Render failed

Im trying to render a PNG-sequence using bodymovin and, even though, except for the PNG-sequence, there are no files in the project, its giving me the error: Render failed! Composition should not include any videos. Any idea what might be wrong? I dont see how that error is making sense.

Hi, I've found this solution for my "failed render" issue:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db4VdmA37rI

The reason: you need to allow the bodymovin to write a file on your HDD/network.
go to preferences > scripting&expressions > allow scripts to write files and acces network

this worked for me. Cheers, M

Again, you have a wrong understanding what Bodymovin does and how it works. It is not meant to apply magical compression or whatever to pixel images, it is used to translate shape layers, masks and transform properties of layers into SVG code/ HTML canvas code or derivations thereof. Unless you intend on actually creating such stuff, the better option for purely pixel-based content is to just create an animated GIF or render a clip.

Oh, so theres no way to actually combine Blender and bodymovin? I sadly have to use bodymovin because tgs is the only accepted file format for Telegram stickers. Will try to look into it then.

It seems you have a serious misunderstanding what Bodymovin' does and how it works. Of course an imported image sequence is "video" and the plug-in has nothing to work with if you don't use any actual shape layers, layer transforms and what have you. Just dropping a sequence onto the timeline won't convert it into an SVG/ HTML canvas. For anything outside this assumption you'd have to provide actual info about the project and its contents, not just state that things don't work in such a broad and generic fashion. Screenshots tell a lot...

Thanks for your answer,

I now tried the same scene, but as an EXR instead. Its not giving me any error when rendering (supposedly) successfully in bodymovin, but the tgs file is practically empty (<1kb). When trying to open the file through telegram it shows a blank file aswell. The only effect I added to the composition is EXtractoR and since that one doesnt show up in the restricted effect list, I have no idea whats wrong again. The animation shows correctly in after effects btw.
