Hello!
Has anyone been able to successfully export animations from AE created by 3rd party scripts such as Edit Monkey, Autofill, Deep Glow, Geolayers into a JSON or SVG format using Bodymovin for use on websites? If not Bodymovin, are there other alternatives?
I created a basic text animation using Edit Monkey in AE and the export to SVG failed citing 'expressions error' with Bodymovin. This is my first time using it.
if anyone has such experience please do kindly share.
thanks!

All of the 3rd party converters are severely limited in their ability to generate code-based animations for the web. If you apply any effect to Text layers that add pixels, the text layer cannot be converted to vectors without removing the effects. That is probably the cause of the export problem.
If you are doing a lot of web animations, use Adobe Animate.
After Effects is a pixel manipulating app that creates consecutive frames full of pixels. Animate manipulates vectors and can do a few things with pixels, so one image frame can be stretched over several seconds. Asking AE to do anything but create a movie is pushing the product's basic functionality.

Yeah, what Rick said. You are using the wrong tool. And you already mentioned actual effects plug-ins like Deep Glow and Autofill that would not natively translate to SVG/ CSS/ canvas code, anyway, and just produce a rasterized image. I feel you're not even understanding that part and just blindly use Bodymovin', hoping it would spit out perfect web code.
