I am new so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I started a new video at 960x720. I imported an image, 960x720 and it will not fit the stage, there is an excess, see attachment, in red. Why is this and how could fix it? Thank you!

Or you can use this method:

Drag the footage item to the Create A New Composition button at the bottom of the Project panel

It will create a composition the size of your image.

Thanks so much for the response. I need what you suggested and what I came up with was 803x720. What is confusing to me is why would I choose a 960x720 video size, make my image the exact same size and it won't fit? This has not been the case in other video software I have used in the past. What am I not understanding? Thank you!

I did that before and it didn't work but it did now. I started from scratch, nothing lost, just trying to learn and boy did I learn so much from running into this issue. Thank you very much for the help, it's much appreciated! I still do not understand why such a difference but at least I have a better idea how to work around it.
