Can't edit between seconds?

Question

So, I was editing again for about maybe the 5th time and I think I've accidentally toggled something, unless I only just noticed this now. But before when I was editing, I could of sworn I was able to move the Current Time Indicator anywhere in my timeline, like between seconds at milliseconds just like I can in Adobe Premiere, but all of a sudden I couldn't anymore and it has become increasingly frustrating, as I can't find Any details on this issue whatsoever, and to top it off, my timeline is now defaulting to showing at frames instead of seconds, and when switched to seconds it shows them like: 00031 instead of 31s.

Does anyone know what it is I have done? It'd be much appreciated if someone could tell me how to undo this.

Thank you! That was the issue. I was doing some editing with keyframes, but before I was placing the keyframes I noticed I couldn't get between frames regularly, and thought it applied all the way through, so I stopped what I was doing to try and figure it out, because I had to redo the edit I was making.

Edit: Actually nope, I thought that was it and didn't check until after I made the comment. I can't move Keyframes between frames either. They are stuck at on the ends of the boxes again. The boxes that weren't there until recently.

Please make a break, take a deep breath and overthink what you are doing.

Keyframing between frames? Who is suppose to see this? Everything is fine with your AE, but you seem to lack the very basic understanding if you refer to frames as "boxes".

Again, you are full zoomed in. You have a 60 fps comp, the entire timeline you see and posted in the screenshots is played back in less than a second. You are looking at 1 second only of your whole animation.

When you want to edit audio on the highest precision, AE is simple and without any doubt, not the right tool to do it. Better use Premiere, or even better, an actual audio editing software like Audition or whatever you can put your hands on (there are plenty of free tools, also - I remember Audacity).

I know this is years ago now, but I found the real answer and wanted to share:

I wanted a video duration of 15 seconds. For me, it was that the composition I was working on had somehow set itself upon import to a duration of 0:00:00:15 (fifteen FRAMES) instead of 0:00:15:00 (fifteen seconds). Based on your screenshot with your cursor at 0:00:00:29 it looks like the same thing might have happened, and your whole composition is 60 frames total instead of 60 seconds. To change it, go to Composition -> Composition settings -> Duration.
