Can't quit without saving? Why I am forced to save?

Im on Mac M1 Monterey. 

When I make a project and wants to quit After Effects I am FORCED to save. Why? I know this seems like a weird thing to be annoyed about but If I dont want to save a project why am i forced?

Hi staiola,

 

Welcome to the community.

The screenshot shows the options in the Finder. Do you get a pop-up when you close After Effects (screenshot) that has the options to Save, Don't Save, and Cancel?

    I didnt get this box BUT I reinstalled After Effects and also Media Encoder. Allowed all disk access etc. 
    Now I get that dialog box and can say Dont Save. Reinstalling worked for me 🙂 thx
