Can you use text animation effects as transitions too?

Hey there, new to AE. Would love some help on this topic that I can't seem to find out...

Can you use a text animation effect to animate a text layer and simultaneously transition between text layers? So as to keep the effect smooth and seamless between words?

Specifically the "Algorithm Loop" effect is the exact encryption like animation I'm looking for but I can't seem to find an option to enter more text for the effect to continually flicker through in one smooth effect. Applying the effect to separate successive text layers does not keep the effect...

Any insight much appreciated!

Thanks,

Ryan

Text animation presets don't "transition" across layers, but nothing stops you from modifying and expanding the effect as you see fit. The rest is mertely your lack of knowledge and experience, so I would strongly urge to actually read the help on text layers and text animators. What you want is easily possible by animating the source text and/ or adding more animators, as the preset itself is merely a wiggle expression on the character offset. Again, nothing complicated, you just have to read the help.

Thanks for the quick response. Glad it was as simple as I had hoped. Will be referring to the help text first in the future! Appreciate it.

I use a similar trick all the time -- animate a graphic (or text) to fill the screen, then cut to a different shot before the graphic (or text) gets smaller or animates off.
