I would ask customer service, but I am a student and it is telling me to talk to IT at my school. It's currently 10PM and I can't reach them, so I'll ask here.
I have an issue with whenever I try to click any effects. It's like it doesn't register that I am clicking effects or my saved presets. I can search in the effect section, but not select anything.
I'm not new to AE so, yes, I have selected a layer. Even if I haven't selected a layer, this shouldn't happen.

Without any system information and screenshots we can't realyl tell you much. From the usual issues with hardware acceleration (check the settings, update the graphics driver) to specific issues with your input device to e.g. an incompatible effect or script panel making a mess this could be anything. The more specific you are, the more likely is that we can guess what is causing the problem.

Provide the info from the AE preferences panel for hardware acceleration and the basic computer info accessible under "My Computer" --> right-click --> Properties or the system control panel. Acsimpke fullscreen screenshot of AE, ideally with a project open, may also already provide some clues.

I would start by removing the BCC plug-ins and check for an updated version. There was an issue with this earlier and you may just need to fix this to be able to work.

I attempted to temporarily remove BCC, but the issue still remains.. I came to notice that it only happens after I search in the effects bar though. I can use effects if I don't search.
It's as the search function is bugging up the entire thing.
