Cannot get Null Object to move when parented to Camera

I am using the attached YouTube link to try and create a 3D slideshow animation in After Effects. At about the 10:18 mark it begins animation with a simple zoom in using a Null Object (called "position" in the tutorial) parented to the Camera. In the video, the parented Null Object easily moves via the position tab, but when I try this same seemingly easy step, the camera moves but my video shows absolutely no. movement. The video was made four years ago when the Camera feature did not automatically go 3D on the timeline. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but it's a simple step that I cannot figure out. Hopefully the attached image and some more brain power will help solve this problem.

It's yet another of the quadrizillion bugs that plague AE these days. Switch to a single composition view and you should see it working as expected.
