Hi forum.

I have downloaded a free template, and it comes with sound fx. I'm trying to locate where the sound FX are coming from in the placeholder, but I cannot locate it. I also dont have the option to turn off sound for each layer.

Thank you

Here's the template.

its from this website:

Did you try typing MP3 in the Project Panel Search Field and then right-clicking the audio file and selecting Reveal in Composition?  You can double-click on one of the MP3s to identify the sound, then right-click and navigate to the comp you want to open and find the file to turn off the sound, adjust the volume, or even replace it with another file.

Somebody put a lot of work into that template, but it isn't the most efficiently designed slideshow template I have seen.

There are also WAV files in the project. If you replace the footage files with your own footage, you'll also have to turn off the audio for every clip you add to the template. It would take a lot of work to simplify the whole template and make it a lot more user-friendly.

Go to the top left corner of the Comp Panel and find the three horizontal lines or use the Composition Menu to open the composition flow chart. Expand the flowchart by clicking on the Plus signs for each nested comp, and you'll find the sound file somewhere. Double-click on the sound file, and the comp will open, and the layer will be selected.

Another option is to go to the Project panel and locate any audio files. You can then right-click and select Reveal in Composition.

Hi Rick, I appreciate your reply, I managed to locate some of the MP3 files, in this flowchart labyrinth, but the rest is such a tedious task to do. Isn't there a search option in AE to locate where MP3 files can be situated? This is only a fraction of the flowchart, it's endless.
