CC RepeTile > Slide - Not Rendering/Showing in Full Res/Renders

Hi everyone,

Hoping you can help me with this specifically odd problem.

I'm creating this neat text effect using CC Repetile - which utilizes the Slide option under Tiling.

However, I discovered that when I switched my Comp Res from Third to Full, the effect no longer appears.

It does not appear once rendered either. I've tried applying it to the actual text layer and not the pre-comp, but that yielded the same results. I tried applying the effect to a pre-render as well and that did not work either. Is there perhaps a way to render a comp at Third resolution as you see it with Ram Preview? The only work-around I can think of would be a screen-recording hah...

I'm not sure what's going on, and it's such a specific problem I'm having no luck finding a solution online.

Hope you all can help!

Thanks!

Correct answer Dave_LaRonde

I see you're masking a layer.  What happens if you make comp the same size at that mask, put the layer in it, and then apply repetile to the nested comp?

That looks like it does the trick!

As long as the type breaks the edge of the comp it will be stretched. I was using a mask so that I could animate its shape, so that's one downside - I'm not sure it would be possible to animate the width/height of the composition.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll see where I can take this.

While Dave's suggestion works, I'd still rate this as a bug. All other Repetile modes seem to work fine with a masked tile. So I'd suggest you still report it.

Not that this helps much - but I can see the same issue here with a simple test project. Looks like a bug to me.

Unless someone comes up with something we've missed I'd file a report here:
