Cinema 4d Lite is not opening

Hi All,

 

I am trying to open Cinema 4d project in After Effects 25.2.2. In my creative cloud is says the add-on Cinema 4D by Maxon is added, I have also created an account through Maxon's official website, but when I try to create a new Maxon Cinema 4D file from After Effects it says the following error message:

After Effects error: Code (A_Err_GENERIC): Cinema 4D 2025 must be installed in order to use "Cineware by Maxon". To install from the Creative Cloud app go to After effects, choose the "..." button next to "Open" and select 'Add-ons'. (0::1) 

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I am running into the same issue and the only thing that seems to work is downloading an old version of after effects. When I do that, I am able to use cinema 4d.

That's not ideal. Which version of After Effects did you install that worked?

Sorry to hear about the issue. Are you on macOS or Windows? Can you check if Cinema 4D is installed on your computer or not?

On macOS - go to the Applications folder and see if you can find "Maxon Cinema 4D 2025"

On Windows - C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D [version]

If it does, try uninstalling both After Effects and Cinema 4D and reinstalling them.
