Cinema 4D not included in After Effects 2021

I need to work on a Cinema 4D file, but it seems that C4D is not included when I installed After Effects 2021. I am currently subscribed to the "All Apps" plan and my OS is macOS Big Sur.

Is there a solution for this, or do I need to reinstall After Effects?

Hi ElishNunez,

Sorry for your issue.

Cinema 4D lite is installed with After Effects. Please try reisntalling After Effects if it's not working properly.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu

When you get this error? Importing a Cinema 4D file? Opening an old project that has some cinema 4d files inside?

I am creating a new Cinema 4D File from File>New>Maxon Cinema 4D File. Then the prompt happens.

I remember having cinema 4D last year but then I uninstalled AE and C4D. I reinstall AE last week because I renewed my subscription.

Probably this is the problem. If you had previously installed Cinema 4D, the Cineware plugins installed are referring to the complete version of Cinema 4D. Try to uninstall After Effects again. Then, go to your Applications folder and check if the After Effects CC 2021 folder is still there. Inside this folder you will need to remove the plugins folder to avoid AE to load newer versions of the Cineware plugin. The last step is to install AE again.

Reinstalled AE, same result. How can I fix this issue?
