Comp background green after NVIDIA update

Hi everyone,

I am having some trouble and can't find a solution.

So I updated my NVIDIA Studio Driver last night and this morning did the installation and restarted my PC, but now in AE, my comp's background is green. I don't have a BG layer, the comp's background is set to black. If I press the transparency toggle, it doesn't go away, it stays green.

I have tried purging memory, I have tried deselecting "Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels" and nothing works.

I have 12 comps and this is happening on 11 of them. Also, the Main comp that all these are in has a BG layer which appears on the comp that works. It seems the green BG is covering it on the rest.

I have attached screenshots to show what I mean.

I hope I am making sense. Please help as I have a deadline. Thanks!

My specs are:

Dell G15 5515

AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz

RAM 32,0 GB

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

Another update:

I think I have found the problem!!

I have a VO layer which has a video clip in it with no video, just audio (I thought I exported an .mp3, but I see it's an .mp4) and that layer is what is giving a green background.

I feel like a fool now as the whole time thought it was an audio file. Silly me.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Update:

With RAM Preview, it flickers between black and green but still doesn't show transparency or the BG layer in the Main comp.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply and assistance.

I saw that post and tried that as stated in my original post. It doesn't work. This works for footage imported that shows up green, but in my case, it is the actual composition background which technically has no reality, it's just empty space that appears as whatever colour you set it as. The alpha channel if you will. Even when I press the transparency toggle, it doesn't show the transparency grid as it should. It's just green. I can still work with some difficulty, but it does need to be fixed.

Thanks for clarifying. Could you try installing Nvidia driver which was released a month ago?

Let us know if that works.

Thanks,

Nishu

Update:

I reinstalled v 526.98 and it's still doing it on this project. I thought I should create a new project and import that one into it and it's still the same on the 11 comps, but normal on the new ones so I think the project is just broken. I will just copy all the layers into new comps and work from there.

Would be nice to know why this happened though and if there is a fix so I know for the future.
