comp window halfway off panel, can't move with hand tool

This is a new one.  I am working on a comp; if I scale the view size down real small the comp view is in the center of the panel.  As I start increasing the view size, instead of remaining in the center, it zooms to the right until it is outside the panel and un-viewable, and I cannot reposition it with the hand tool.

I'm on AE 2017...any ideas?  it's only with this particular comp; and it was working fine until it wasn't

    Hi Mike

    Try the Alt+? shortcut with the composition panel is active to fit the view.

    Next time when you zoom in hold the Alt key to zoom to the location of the cursor
