Confetti animation along path

Hello everyone,

I have a question about animating confetti in After Effects. I want to animate confetti that appears and moves through the frame along a path. The confetti should keep moving slightly. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a tutorial on how to do this. Is there anyone who can give me advice on the best way to approach this?

I'd link CC Particle World to a 3D Null and then animate the null object for the path.

How to link CC Particle World to a 3D Null:

Then in the effect's Particle settings, I'd choose Quad Polygon and make a few changes to the opacity, opacity map and size.

Here's a YouTube tutorial that could help: https://adobe.ly/4kfdYLP

Let us know if there are any other questions.

Thanks,

You will need Particular for that. It is part of the Trapcode/Red Giant Suite from Maxon. You can't do that kind of particle work with AE's built-in particle effects.

The only other basic solution to that problem would be to use a lot of 3D layers animated along a motion path. If you end up with more than about 50 layers, you will need a very powerful machine to do that.
