Copy timeline layer-structure, from one Composition to Another Composition

Hey,

I've a Composition 1920x1080, Desktop view, which include about 8 different pre-comps and 5 layers of images.

Now - I need to copy all these layers to another Composition, which has the size of 1080x1920, for mobile view. But I've copied all layers in the Proect window screen - to make them independent, but when i draw them from the project side window, into the new comp, the structure of all layers within the timeline is gone.

If I copy all layers from the first comp, from the layers meny, i'll get the structure (in the timeline) exacly as the first comp, but by this they are not independent - so I cant change the content here without messing around the first comp.

How do you guys do - copying the timelime structure to another comp, and at the same time have the possibility to adjuste them without ruin the design of the first composition.

One images show the correct AND carefully adjusted structure in timeline , and the other images shows what is happening when i copy pre-comps and layers from the project window into the new comp. The structure of the timeline is gone.

To create a deep duplicate of your composition (i.e. a duplicate where also all nested precomps are duplicated) you can
a)
- save a copy of your project which is reduced to only the comp you want to duplicate (and its precomps of course)
- then import this project into your original project. With each import you obtain a new deep copy.

b) use Automation Blocks

Automation Blocks has the Duplicate Comp block, for example, which in its default setting creates a deep duplicate of the active composition.
Automation Blocks has the advantage that you can modify tools to tailor them to your workflow or use tools which other Automatio Blocks users developed.
In the Automation Blocks Community Library, you also find a tool "Duplicate Comp to All Social Sizes", which shows this dialog when you run it:

You just choose , which formats you need and then it created (deep) duplicates of your active comp for all sizes yo've chosen and sets the comp sizes of the duplicates (and their precomps) as needed.
You find the tool "Duplicate Comp to All Social Sizes" in the community library in the folder
Comps/Duplicate/

c) Another option is the True Comp Duplicator . It does not create comps for multiple aspect ratios for you, but for a basic deep duplicate it is a good option, too.
