Crashes when zooming

every Time I change the percentage drop down menu to zoom in or out of the video I am editing after effects crashes! I’m running on a Samsung laptop with 8gb ram so would of thought that was acceptable. Any ideas????

    Try a couple of things.

    Step 1.- Go to File > Project Settings and under the Video and Rendering tab select Mercury Software Only to avoid the application takes advantage of GPU.

    Step 2.- Go to Edit > Purge > All Memory and Disk Cache to delete any previous cache that could potentially affect your preview.

    Another things you can check are:

    - Try to change the format of your video file. You can use Adobe Media Encoder to transcode to any other codec.

    - Delete the Prefs file before using again After Effects. You can do this holding CTRL/COMMAND+ALT+SHIFT as soon as you launch the application. You will be prompted to delete your preference file.
