Delayed transition Linear wipe effect

Hello Forum.

I have a linear wipe effect on my text layer. I have made 2 keyframes from 0sec to 00:05sec, and the transition to be from 0 to 100. But the linear wipe begins with a delay, almost at 2 (33%) seconds. Why is this happening?

The width of a text layer is the same as the comp width, not the same as the width of the text. Your text starts about 1/3 of the way through the frame, so a linear wipe would start showing up at about 33% through the frame. That is exactly what is happening in your comp. If you want to adjust the timing of the wipe you just have to enter different start and end Transition Complete values.

Got it, this frame had to have 28% value, and not 0% which one might think is the way Linear wipe operates. Nevertheless, thanks again!

Kind regards.

Linear Wipe works on layer size. Shape layers and text layers all have Comp-sized layers.  Masks on layers also do not change the layer size. You need to adjust for the difference.
