Disable/Change AE Splash Screen

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable or customise the new AE (17.5.1) splash screen?

I don't know why but I find having to look at 'REE ANC' every time AE starts up far more irritating than sad PS lady.

I tried the -NoSplash trick with the shortcut path but no joy.

With AE open press Alt/Option + Ctrl/Cmnd + ;

You can also use the menu to open preferences.

The second line item is Startup & Repair. You will find the Enable Home Screen checkbox in that tab.

i would love to be able to remove the horrendous graphics i have to look at 50 times a day

If you're on Windows, then no, there's no way to do this. Waaay back in the day I remember a way to find the PNG on Macs, but on Windows the file is embedded very differently and you can't access it. Not only that, but it will come back every time you update After Effects.
