DNXHD Footage not displaying or rendering properly

New Here ,
Jul 21, 2021 Jul 21, 2021

I recently discovered that the DNxHD codec doesn't render properly in After Effects 18.4 - this is in the comp window, when previewing and rendering. Soloing, switching visibility between layers seems to randomly reveal layers. The alpha toggle for the comp window also doesnt work.

Clearly a rendering issue - rolling back to 18.2 has worked for me.

I'm on a mac, with Radeon Pro card and Big Sur 11.4.

Hope this helps

I also had a problem that I suspect is the same thing. I had various DNxHR HQ (with alpha) footage that appeared as solid black in all my comps after the update to 18.4. Rolling back to 18.2.1 solved the problem for me.
