Dynamic Link to Premiere Pro Sequence - No Playback in After Effects

I'm currently working on editing a Premiere Pro sequence with markers placed along the timeline to guide timing alignment with animated object keyframes in After Effects. I was hoping that by placing a dynamic link to the sequence, I could use it as a timing reference in After Effects for adjusting keyframes, yet the linked sequence simply does not playback in the After Effects comp at all. Wondering if maybe there's a better way to approach this? Since the Premiere sequence is still in the process of being edited (i.e. marker timing placements are likely to change), I'd like to have those adjustments automatically reflected in my After Effects comp, but it doesn't appear to work that way. I'm guessing that the only way to make this work is to render a mov clip from Premiere and use that as a guide instead of dynamic link? Seems very tendious though, since it would need to be re-rendered and replaced every time a small change is made... Thoughts, ideas, suggestions? (Premiere Pro sequence and After Effects comp both match exactly in terms of dimensions 1920x1080 and frame rate 23.976, etc.). Would be great if the dynamic link would just playback in the comp.
