I'm hoping someone has a good answer for me here. I've created a template in After Effects that has a few blend modes. specifically a blue screen with a "color" blend mode on it and a Black screen below it with a "Multiply" blend mode on it and the opacity set to 30%. It works perfectly in AE but when I load it into Premiere via Essential graphics the blend modes don't appear to work. Any ideas?

Blending Modes do not transfer over unless you use one of the Channel Effects which has Blending Modes built-in - can't recall which one.

This is ABSURD. I've been recreating one of my Apple Motion title templates in After Effects, and it was perfect until I hit this same wall. Thought I was finished! Final Cut Pro honors blend modes from Motion templates all day long, so why wouldn't AE? Don't even get me started on Behaviors VS Expressions. I'm at wits end with this program.

Per Roland's comment, the answer appears to be the "Soid Composite" Channel effect.

...or not.
