Expand Reveal for an Image

Question

I have the graphic I'm working on where the letters slide up, but I want to have the bar I put below the letters to expand out from the center. I googled and googled and googled for tutorials, but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. I just want it to expand out from the center to the left and right. I tried thinking of whether I could do a mask reveal from side to side, but I don't know how I would execute that.

If you use a shape layer, add Trim Paths animate Start and End from 50% and 50% to 0% and 100%.

You can also use two copies of Effects/Transform/Linear Wipe with one set to 90º and the other set to 270º, then animate both from 50% to zero.
